REAMPING

“Reamping” is the process in which a signal recorded in “DI” is routed out of the DAW and processed externally using effects units and then through a guitar amplifier and cabinet or a reverb chamber.

This allows the producer or audio engineer to experiment with different sounds and tones without needing to perform new takes.

The main goal of reamping is to achieve the best possible sound for a recording, providing additional flexibility and control during the mixing process. This can be particularly useful when working on tracks that require a wide range of tones or when aiming to achieve a specific sound aesthetic that can only be reached with certain amplifiers and effects.
